WHY I DESIGN
WHAT I DESIGN
DEFINES ME.

(It's not) About me

We are storytellers, doers, makers, dreamers and early risers. We have too many ideas and too few hours in a day to realize them all. We must not let our technology slow us down.

I design to enable. I hope to facilitate someone else's motivation, to create tools to help convert ideas into action.

Portfolio

Hello. At Visura, I envision how people experience our products and aim to bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired and refined. My goal is to transform complex tasks into simple, easy-to-use designs. For the past 5+ years, my focus has been developing UX for responsive web applications. I design technical applications that aim to be frictionless and at times Fun To Use. I enjoy using photography and typography and have a strong knowledge of color theory - most recently inspired by Google’s Material Design theory.

Process. I primarily work in small cycles of wireframe layout to final designs, then build css and js using our Visura framework. Beyond this, I work regularly with end users in both support and research and I am comfortable providing data-driven reports to guide UX decisions. In addition, I enjoy learning from others and have experience in budgeting and small team management.

2015-2016
Visura.co is a professional network connecting visual artists and buyers. The platform combines networking, a site builder, and a creative finder.

UX Goals
Create a networking platform that is professionally oriented, super easy to use, and tuned for visual thinkers. The Visura Networking Platform has two dashboards - one for visual artists/journalists and one for editors/art buyers. The application has a community timeline that aggregates projects, news feed and a 'photo stream' - as well as a drop box tool, messenger, contest engine and lightboxes for saving projects. One feature I am most excited about is our archive pages which continuously load content as the user scrolls.

Industry Adoption
Visura has received wide industry adoption and is regularly used by individuals from National Geographic, CNN, The New Yorker, HBO, BuzzFeed, NY Times, & over 100 other leading publishers and creative agencies to find new work and hire talent worldwide.

Site Builder
The portfolio site builder is focused on building white-label websites which are comfortably integrated into the networking platform. The site builder comes with 8 themes pre-loaded, with a basic design editors and access to overwrite theme styles to make deep customizations. Features include a project builder that streams your assets to editors/art buyers, drop box pages, easy shopping carts and responsive/mobile layouts.
